After more than twenty years of independent travel throughout Italy its time to share a few of our experiences, the places we have explored, and the Italian people that we have met and can now call a friend.
It’s June, and we have just arrived in Sicily for the 8th time and are now in our apartment for the next 4 weeks. The apartment is situated in Recanati just to the west of Giardini Naxos and Taormina and has a view over towards Mt Etna.
Early the next morning we awoke to the most spectacular site of the latest and biggest eruption in the last few years, and we had front row seats being as the crow flies or more accurately as the Lava flows around 8 to 10 miles from the Volcano.
